Internet of Things (IoT) events

The main goal of IoT section within SpliTech is to present and discuss recent advances in the area of the Internet of Things and Embedded systems that are more and more interesting to both academia and industry. SpliTech is gathering scientists, engineers and researchers to discuss new applications, design problems, ideas, solutions, research and development results, experiences and work-in-progress activities in this important technological area.

All events are Technically Co-Sponsored (TCSed) by IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and supported in part by Croatian Science Foundation under the project “Internet of Things: Research and applications”.

Related events are partial IoT and embedded systems description and RFID.

IoT program can be found here.

UAS4Enviro2018

collocated event

The Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc) and the University of Split, FESB, Split, Croatia are organising, the 6th International Conference on “Small Unmanned Aerial Systems for Environmental Research”. UAS4Enviro2018 will be hosted at FESB, from 27 through 29 June 2018.

Authors of accepted conference contributions will be given an opportunity to submit full versions of their papers to a special issue of the International Journal of Remote Sensing (IJRS). This special issue will be published in conjunction with the new Drones section of IJRS. Note that papers submitted to the special issue will undergo peer-review in the normal way. Submission of conference papers will not be available.

The main goals are:
– Bring together the global UAS community working in the Environmental (and related) field;
– Present the latest results exploiting different data, platforms and methodologies;
– Provide a forum for international scientists to present their projects’ results;
– Assess the maturity of applications and the state of the art in the field;
– Facilitate international exchange on UAS Research, development and applications;
– Review and assess the progress according to the recommendations voiced at previous events.

collocated event; organizers: Lara Pajewski (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy) and Dragan Poljak (University of Split, FESB, Croatia)

For the Workshop, we are inviting authors to submit papers in the given topics. Accepted papers will be sent for inclusion in IEEE Xplore and other indexing and abstracting databases.

The Call for Papers with the summary of Talks is given here.

TOPICS:
– Applications of GPR in civil engineering, archaeology, cultural heritage
– Science management in GPR
– Innovative GPR equipment, testing and optimization
– Electromagnetic modeling for GPR systems and environment

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a technology using high frequency electromagnetic waves transmitted into the ground while reflected signals are returned to the receiver.

speakers:

Ground Penetrating Radar for discovering, protecting and preserving cultural heritage

Lara Pajewski

Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy

Workshop on the Role of Frontier Technologies in Smart Sustainable Cities

collocated event; organizer: Nuno Lopes (United Nations University, University of Minho, Portugal)

How to use of Frontiers Technologies in the smart sustainable cities context?

This workshop will discuss how these technologies can be implemented and used for the benefit of the citizens and the city itself in an efficient manner. The new social media tools can also drastically change the way how citizens and governments communicate and interact with each other. This opportunity will be able to reunite in the same place stakeholders from different spheres: industry, academia, government, and practitioners.

Accepted papers will be sent for inclusion in IEEE Xplore and other indexing and abstracting databases.

The Call for Papers is given here. Deadline for paper submission is extended to: April 18, 2018.
